1. Introduction
StylistIQ, Inc. (“StylistIQ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal information when you use our applications, websites, platforms, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). This includes, without limitation, the StylistIQ mobile application, the Stylist and Associate web portals, and any other product or service that links to this policy.
By accessing or using the Services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described herein. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please discontinue use of the Services immediately.
2. Information We Collect
StylistIQ collects various types of information to provide and improve the Services. The information we collect depends on how you interact with us.
We collect personal information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, password, phone number, and any profile details you choose to include. When you use our styling and wardrobe features, we may collect photographs or videos of garments and accessories you upload, metadata such as color, material, or brand details identified by our artificial intelligence (“AI”) systems, and stylistic preferences you input into the platform.
We also collect measurement and fit data, including information entered manually or derived from AI-powered scanning features. This may include body dimensions, posture data, or fit preferences necessary to generate accurate outfit recommendations or to fulfill made-to-measure (“MTM”) orders.
If you choose to connect your calendar, we may access limited event data, including event names, times, and locations, solely to suggest context-appropriate outfits. With your consent, we may also collect your general location, limited to city and country level, for purposes such as weather forecasting and trip planning.
In addition, we automatically collect information about your device and usage of the Services. This includes IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, session duration, and interaction data. For transactions and paid services, we collect billing and purchase details through secure third-party payment processors.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including generating personalized outfit recommendations and managing your digital wardrobe. The information you provide allows us to tailor styling results to your preferences, context, and environment—such as location, weather, or event type—and to deliver made-to-measure, dry-cleaning, or retail orders.
Your information is also used for account management, identity verification, and communication purposes. This includes sending administrative notifications, product updates, customer support responses, and marketing communications where permitted by law and your consent preferences.
StylistIQ uses anonymized and aggregated data to enhance our AI models and improve styling accuracy for all users. We do not use identifiable user content to train our AI systems without explicit consent. We also use information to maintain system integrity, detect fraudulent activity, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
If you reside in the European Union, United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions governed by data protection laws, StylistIQ processes personal data under the following legal bases:
(a) with your consent;
(b) when necessary to perform our contract with you;
(c) when processing is required for compliance with our legal obligations; and
(d) when we have a legitimate interest in providing secure, efficient, and improved Services.
5. How We Share Information
StylistIQ does not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with trusted third parties to deliver and improve our Services. For example, we share data with our hosting provider, Amazon Web Services (“AWS”), for secure cloud storage; with Google Analytics for aggregated usage analysis; and with Mailchimp for marketing email distribution.
When you link with a personal stylist or store associate within the platform, certain wardrobe and profile data will become visible to that professional for the purpose of providing styling services. This access is controlled and revocable by you at any time.
We may also share data with partners providing MTM or dry-cleaning services, solely for order fulfillment and logistics. Such partners are contractually required to use data only for the agreed purpose and to maintain confidentiality and security.
In limited circumstances, we may disclose data to comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users and partners. In the event of a corporate merger, acquisition, or sale, data may be transferred as part of the transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
StylistIQ uses cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking tools to enhance user experience, authenticate users, remember preferences, and analyze site traffic. We use Google Analytics to measure engagement and improve our content and product performance.
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings or through the in-app cookie management tool. Certain essential cookies are necessary for the platform to function and cannot be disabled.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our Services or as required by law. When you delete your account, we will remove or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, subject to legal retention requirements.
Some aggregated or anonymized data may be retained for system analysis, troubleshooting, and service improvement, as such data no longer identifies you personally.
8. Security Measures
We employ industry-standard security practices to safeguard your personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and continuous security monitoring. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized employees and contractors who require it to perform their duties and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
Despite these efforts, no electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. By using the Services, you acknowledge and accept these inherent risks.
9. International Data Transfers
StylistIQ operates globally, and your information may be transferred to or stored in countries outside your jurisdiction, including the United States. These transfers are conducted in compliance with applicable data protection laws. Where required, we implement Standard Contractual Clauses (“SCCs”) or other approved legal mechanisms to ensure equivalent protection.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to request a copy in a portable format. You may also withdraw consent or object to processing where applicable.
For California residents, StylistIQ complies with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). These laws provide the right to know what data is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
Residents of the European Union and the United Kingdom are entitled to similar rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.
Requests to exercise your rights may be submitted to [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling any request.
11. AI and Personalization Data
StylistIQ uses artificial intelligence to analyze wardrobe items, predict outfit combinations, and offer contextual recommendations. This process may include automated decision-making to match garments with occasions or preferences.
We do not use AI to make decisions that produce significant legal or financial effects without human review. When we use user data for model improvement, it is fully anonymized and aggregated to prevent re-identification. You may opt out of contributing anonymized data to AI improvements through your account settings.
12. Marketing and Communications
By creating an account, you may choose to receive promotional emails and newsletters about new features, collaborations, or fashion tips. All communications are managed via Mailchimp and comply with global anti-spam laws. You may opt out at any time by clicking “Unsubscribe” in any email or adjusting your notification settings within the app.
13. Children’s Privacy
StylistIQ is intended for users aged thirteen (13) and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information to us, please contact us immediately so we can remove it.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. Any updates will be posted to this page with a revised “Effective Date.” In cases of significant changes, we will notify users via email or an in-app notice.
